The Andean Centre for Education and Culture (Centro Andino para la Educacion y la Cultura - CApEC) joined the VIA MUSICA network at the end of October, the network of musical virtualities initiated by the Centre Européen de Musique and its founding president, Jorge Chaminé. This cultural organisation is driven by the "EMA", the Musical Embassy of the Andes (Embajada Musical Andina).
The "EMA" (Embajada Musical Andina), the inspiration and driving force behind the creation of CApEC, is the vocal and instrumental ensemble that forms the link between the three "Andean Integration Music Workshops", which bring together 38 young people aged between 12 and 24 from Jujuy (Argentina), Cochabamba (Bolivia), and Antofagasta (Chile). From a common repertoire, selected and coordinated by its director, Susana Julia Fernandez de Moreau, among works of Andean folklore, Latin American popular music, traditional music and American baroque music, the work of reading and musical learning is carried out separately in each of the countries with the help of a local musical leader. This geographical dispersion results in a highly symbolic "sound puzzle": the musical works can only be served with dignity through dress rehearsals involving participants from all three countries. These dress rehearsals take place twice a year and last two to three weeks each.
''Venas Abiertas'' (Andean Musical Embassy). Virtual meeting of the Musical Embassy of the Andes. Since 1993, hundreds of young people from Argentina, Bolivia and Chile have come together to sing with the aim of breaking down borders, under the musical direction of Susana Moreau. This time, they succeeded in bringing together all the generations that have participated in musical "encounters" in these three countries, honouring the Latin American dream of unity. Video made with participants from more than eight countries.
This new partnership will allow the implementation of joint projects, cultural and musical exchanges between Europe and Latin America, including the organisation of concerts, masterclasses and exhibitions.
